BIO

Artist Carolyn Lord's paintings are a record and expression of her world. A plein air artist by training, she has painted locations including Brazil, Italy, and the Virgin Islands; Oregon, Nevada, and Utah; Carmel, Gualala, and the wine country near her home in Livermore, California. Lord’s award winning art encompasses landscapes, architecture, gardens, portraits and still lifes. Her watercolors are recognizable with their varied compositions, color, light and dark.

Lord was a protégé of Millard Sheets, who introduced her to her husband, architect Rob Anglin.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My paintings can be subtle, direct, or whimsical, of what ever I feel is important to share. Usually it's a record of visual beauty. Sometimes I hint at ideas and concepts that are revealed in the painting or in the title.
